Key Export Control Issues & Updates
November 2-3, 2022 • Huntsville

The NAITA Global Strategies Forum, presented by Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, is an expansion of NAITA’s previous Export Control Update Programs to include key Export Control Issues and Updates, Emerging and Foundational Technologies, National Security and Innovation, National Security and Commercial Space, OFAC, CFIUS, Cyber Security for Government Contractors, and Global Supply Chain Issues. This event features speakers Kevin Wolf, Partner with Akin Gump in Washington, DC, and former Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration, Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS), U.S. Department of Commerce; and Candace Goforth, Managing Director, Goforth Trade Advisors, and former Director, Office of Defense Trade Controls, U.S. Department of State. Both are subject matter experts on the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and the EAR (Export Administration Regulations). Assistant Secretary Kevin Wolf led recent presidential Export Control Reform efforts, which moved many items and components from the ITAR to the EAR; while Candace Goforth led the State Department office that is the authority for interpretation and implementation of the ITAR, which governs the manufacture, export, and temporary import of defense articles, the furnishing of defense services, and brokering activities of military-related articles and technologies to safeguard U.S. national security and further U.S. foreign policy objectives.
